These social muses possess a keen editorial eye and a willingness to try new trends, and for that, we thought we would spotlight another personal favourite. Krystin Lee’s love of all things fashion fills our feeds with chic and stylish inspiration. With nods to decor and dreamy vacations, this is one blog you absolutely need to bookmark.

Here are 5 questions (and answers) with Krystin Lee of Suburban Faux-Pas.

1. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog?

“Hi, Everyone! I’m Krystin from the lifestyle blog, Suburban Faux-Pas. I started it as a passion project over 5 years ago when my husband and I found ourselves in the suburbs rather than city living. Determined to prove that regardless of one’s postal code, a stylish lifestyle can prevail – the blog also served as a creative outlet while working in PR. To this day, I continue to work full time as a Social Media Strategist but enjoy keeping regular content posted to the blog and Instagram. We’ve expanded to include so many more topics in the past few years such as travel, decor, beauty and can’t wait to see what’s next for the blog :)”

2. What Instagram filter or editing app do you swear by?

“Oh goodness, there are too many! I’d say my top favourites of the moment are Snapseed, ColorStory and Pic Tap Go for photo editing. I also love Planoly for planning out my content in advance to make sure my feed appears more cohesive for my audience.”

3. What are your top 5 cities, and what trips do you have lined up this year?

“Oof – that’s a tough one! I’d have to say top 5 cities we’ve visited are: Positano, Marrakesh, Napa, St. Bart’s and West Palm Beach. So far for this year, we’ve got plans to visit Palm Springs, Charleston and fingers crossed we make it to the south of France for summer!”

4. What city served you the best meal, and what was it?

“This one is easy: Dar Yacout in Marrakesh. It’s the most magical and beautiful restaurant setting we’ve ever seen. It’s a multiple course menu with free-flowing cocktails and wine which is hard to pass up. But the food was delightful and quite possibly, the best lamb dish we’ve ever had. The setting is very romantic and I’d highly, highly recommend a visit with that special someone.”

5. What are the pieces you never leave home without?

“I don’t ever leave home without my laptop, card carrying case, a Lonely Planet guide book, Canon 6D, travel camera, iPhone, a sleeping mask and cozy socks for the airplane or chilly hotel rooms!”

5 Questions With Jonathan Cavaliere Of Mr. Cavaliere

Millennial muses possess a keen editorial eye and a willingness to try new trends, and for that, we thought we would spotlight another personal favourite.

Jonathan Cavaliere’s love of all things lifestyle fills our feeds with a healthy dose of daily inspiration. With nods to food and adventure, this is one blog you absolutely need to bookmark.

Here are 5 questions (and answers) with Jonathan Cavaliere of Mr. Cavaliere.

1. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog?

“I have always been a menswear enthusiast, so starting Mr. Cavaliere was a way to document my style progression during my time in fashion school. Now the site has grown from a personal style blog to a place with curated style tips and tricks on how to dress and live better.”

2. What Instagram filter or editing app do you swear by?

“For a majority of the photo editing that I do, I actually use the iPhone preset filters! For me, it’s more important to make sure that the lighting is just right, the picture is sharp, and the image atmosphere is aligned with the way I want it to feel.”

3. What are your top five favourite cities, and what trips do you have lined up this year?

My top 5 favourite places definitely are Shanghai, China, Florence, Italy, Mykonos, Greece, New York, USA and Belo Horizonte, Brazil. This year, I’m hoping to plan a trip to a European destination! Typically, with my line of work, trips pop up unexpectedly, so I am excited to see what the future holds.”

4.  What city or country served you the best meal, and what was it?

“As I am a huge fan of Mediterranean cuisine, Mykonos had some of the best Greek food I have ever had. Not only is it healthy for you, but it’s also delicious! Whether I had gyros, souvlaki, or just pita and tzatziki, I often found myself savouring every bite.”

5. What are a few things you miss the most when you’re away from home?

“I often miss the little unique quirks that only home can provide. I miss the comfort and familiarity of my bedroom, when it’s time to rest. As a menswear enthusiast, I often miss my wardrobe and being able to wear whatever fits my mood. Lastly, I miss how multicultural our city is. Whenever I come home and see so many people with different nationalities living in harmony, I’m reminded of how great it is to live in Toronto!”

5 Questions With Natalie Alysa X Pop Of Black

Millennial muses possess a keen editorial eye and a willingness to try new trends, and for that, we thought we would spotlight another personal favourite.

Natalie Alysa’s love of all things fashion fills our feeds with chic and stylish inspiration. With nods to fantastic travel and trends, this is one blog you absolutely need to bookmark.

Here are 5 questions (and answers) with Natalie Alysa of Pop of Black.

1. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog?

“Hey Siren Travellers! My name is Natalie Alysa and I am the founder of fashion and lifestyle blog, Pop of Black, created right downtown in the city of Toronto. It is no mistake that my blog name literally explains the colour scheme of 99.9% of my outfits (hint: black). My platform aims to inspire others to, “define style through finding your edge”. I feel as though my personal style has pushed me to take risks and feel confident in myself to just be me, and ultimately, find my edge. This is what pushed me to create a blog, where I want others to feel inspired to do the same, whatever their edge may be. While putting my heart into my blog, my mind has been consumed in completing my final year of my undergrad degree in business management with a major in marketing. I’m almost done, woo! My hope is to be able to one day make blogging my full-time career! (Fun fact: I have a Mini Wiener dog named Louie who you will see a ton of insta-stories about #lovehim)”

2. What filter or editing app do you swear by?

“I have such a process when it comes to editing my photos! But, good news! They are all apps you can use right from your phone, which makes it so easy. I first use the app, Facetune, where I mainly use the “whitening”, “defocus”, and “patch” effects. I swear this app saves my life! Secondly, I move over to VSCO, where I use one of their filters (which one you may ask…a girl can’t give away all her secrets right!?) and then play around with the brightness, contrast, and shadows on the photo. Lastly, I upload the photo onto an app called, UNUM, which lets you plan out your Instagram feed before posting. Sounds easy enough right?”

3. What are your top five favourite cities, and what trips do you have lined up this year?

“Sadly, I don’t think I can name five as I haven’t been able to travel as much as I would have liked to. But, last year I visited New York City with my boyfriend for the first time and for a girl who loves fashion, it might have been my dream city. I seriously hope to live there one day! In terms of specific trips lined up, I don’t have any dates set yet. Although, I am definitely planning to go to Los Angeles by the end of the year & hopefully get to go back to New York City! I also need to squeeze in somewhere warm this year…the beach is a must!”

4. What city or country served you the best meal, and what was it?

“I will have to give credit to my own city, Toronto, as after living down here for almost 4 years, I have had some awesome opportunities to try some amazing dishes. Not too long ago I tried Pho for the first time at a restaurant called Pho Pasteur, and it might have been the best meal I had ever had. I ordered some spring rolls on the side (which were homemade and so fresh) and it was to die for! Since I went there for that first time, I have yet to find better Pho in the city!”

5. What are a few things you can’t leave the house without?

“Okay, well definitely my phone and camera, because you never know when you are going to get a perfect insta-opportunity! I also can’t leave without my Mac Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in the shade, “Nice n Spicy”, which I use all over my lip like every day. I swear it just makes me feel so fresh! Lastly, I always bring my agenda with me. When new dates pop up that I need to remember, or even business ideas that come to mind, I need to physically write them out right then and there!”

5 Questions With Kaylee Giffin Of The Blondielocks

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog?

Hello Siren Traveller readers! My name is Kaylee Giffin and I am the editor of the Toronto-based life & style blog The Blondielocks. My blog began in 2013 as a way to inspire readers to “curate a life that is just right”, through outfit ideas, delicious recipes, simple DIY projects and beauty advice. The Blondielocks is all about offering readers an aspirational yet attainable approach to living life a little more stylishly. As for a little bit about me, I am a 25-year-old fashion business graduate living in downtown Toronto with my twin sisters, fiancé and 3-year-old rescue pup, Milo. I am a huge homebody, meaning you can usually find me with a glass of red wine and a good movie on a Friday night over any party. I have a huge love for photography, sour candies and most recently have become fascinated by the art of flower arranging!

What Instagram filter or editing app do you swear by?

Currently, I edit all of my photos in Photoshop, but post-Photoshop I love editing with VSCO Cam and Afterlight. A7 is my favourite filter on VSCO and I typically do brightness, contrast and sharpening on Afterlight

What are your top 5 cities, and what trips do you have lined up this year? We currently don’t have any trips lined up for this year but here are some of the places that I’d LOVE to go to.

Tulum, Mexico (my friend told me it’s like the brand Free People in city format)

Iceland (all over!)

Portland, Oregon (is that weird?)

Paris, France (obviously!)

New York (Crazy I haven’t been!)

What city or country served you the best meal you ever had, and what was it? Truthfully I haven’t had the opportunity to travel that much as of yet, so I definitely can’t tell you that I’ve enjoyed pasta in Italy or street food in Thailand. However, I will say that Chicago isn’t lying when they say that they have amazing deep-dish pizza! 😉

What are the pieces you never leave home without? My cell phone, camera, Henné Organics lip balm and lipstick.
